Funkin' Matt is the alias of Mats Ronander.
He started out producing music in his hometown
with his bestfriend (David/BlameTheFunkstar) when
they we're only 11/12 years old.
At 16 years old Mats got his first record deal
with uk hardhouse label shock, sadly they went
banktrupt just before the release. Not long after
that he also got more releases on small labels
and started to get playes from DJ's around the world.
But it wasn't before 2007, just after his 20 birthday
his music career really started to pick up. He got
support from DJs Sidney Samson & Gregor Salto, and
also started to pick up his own DJin in Norway.
Allthough he'd been DJin for 3 years it was mostly in
the bedroom. In the end of 2007 he got his biggest
gig so far, at Escape Venue in Amsterdam. And with
remixes for Gregor Salto & Sidney Samson along with
his own releases on Samsobeats he's starting to get
more and more known.
